Examination

The school year is divided into three terms:

March to May   |   July to October   |   November to February

Examinations are held at the end of each term, and no student will be permitted to take examinations earlier or later. Students absent from an examination without a valid reason will be considered as having failed in that subject. In case of illness, a doctor’s certificate must be produced.

Students absent in any subject will be treated as failed in that subject and will not be awarded any position or allowed to reappear for the same. In case of serious illness, a medical certificate must be submitted.

Regular periodical tests will also be conducted in addition to term examinations. Marks obtained in all these tests and examinations will be taken into account for promotion.

A pupil shall be eligible to appear in the Final Examination only if he/she has a minimum of 85% attendance of the total academic days.

Any student found indulging in malpractice during an examination is liable to be debarred from further examinations. The criteria for promotion after the Final Examination shall be a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in all subjects, in addition to the internal assessment conducted by the school.

The Principal has the authority to strictly follow the ICSE promotion scheme. The result declared at the end of the year will be final and shall not be reconsidered, nor will answer sheets be shown.

A student who fails in two consecutive final examinations will be required to leave the school.

Those seeking admission to the school must accept this promotion policy. The decision of the school in all matters of promotion is final and irrevocable.

Guardians are requested to review each report card and examine the homework diary of their ward to understand any shortcomings in performance.

Promotion to a Higher Class Depends Upon:

  • Regularity in attendance
  • Regularity and quality of participation in class
  • Assessment by subject teachers
  • Completion and quality of written work and projects
  • Average marks obtained in all term examinations
